The New England Patriots organization has come under fire for more reasons than one recently with the latest accusation being that it isn't fun to play for the five-time Super Bowl champions. Former All-Pro wideout Reggie Wayne, who had a very brief stint with the team back in 2015, talked about his experience with the franchise.

Reports surfaced back in 2015 that Wayne wasn't having a good time in New England leading to his decision to leave and ultimately retire. The potential future Hall of Famer refuted these reports and chalked up his abrupt New England departure to knowing it was finally time to walk away from the game, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

“There are some reports out there that I left New England because I said it was not fun or it was too hard. Those reports are false. The fact is, I was done. It was time for me to retire. There were other teams that wanted my services but I knew it was done for me,” Wayne said.

Wayne never played another down in the NFL after leaving the Patriots in 2015. He promptly ended his playing career and seems to be enjoying retirement while waiting for what could be a call to induct him in the Hall of Fame.

As for the Patriots, it seems as though the franchise can't get away from negative attention these days. The team is constantly surrounded by a shroud of negativity with speculation about an undesirable working environment for players or Tom Brady and or Bill Belichick not being happy about their current situation.

Regardless of what may be going on in New England, Brady and company are still expected to be a title contender in 2018 as they go for sixth Super Bowl title in the Brady-Belichick era.
