New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski doesn’t think he’ll miss any time due to a groin injury he suffered in Week 2 but admitted that he’s day-to-day. Nevertheless, he said that he’s feeling just fine and is happy to know his injury is nothing serious according to ESPN’s Mark Reiss.

“Super relieved,” Gronkowski told reporters. “I knew there was nothing really wrong from the beginning, so I'm good.”

Gronkowski was evidently optimistic of his status as he spoke to reporters on Monday, adding that he’s spent the day going through the usual routines of doing workouts and examining game videos.

Asked how he was feeling, he said: “I'm feeling good. Everything is going smooth. Another Monday.”

The Patriots star hurt his groin late in the third quarter of Sunday’s 36-20 road win against the New Orleans Saints in which he also had impressive overall performance, catching six of nine targets for 116 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Just in case Gronkowski ultimately misses this coming Sunday’s contest against the Houston Texans, Dwayne Allen and Jacob Hollister should be in line for increased snaps and consequently, targets.

Gronkowski missed a total of eight regular season games last year due to hamstring and back issues, substantially limiting his potential to contribute. He finished 2016 with only 540 receiving yards and three end zone scores.
