Shaquille O’Neal is no stranger to crazy. The legendary NBA big man is a fun-loving guy who is just as renowned for his wacky antics as his on-court dominance. But even Shaq Daddy himself couldn’t help but be amazed by New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski’s level of insanity.
Shaq and Gronk got together earlier this summer in an electronic dance music festival called “Shaq’s Fun House.” It was during that event that the two got into an epic dance-off which saw a shirtless Gronk grooving while perched on top of Shaq’s shoulders. After that encounter, Shaq came to realize something about Gronk.
“He's the craziest white guy I've ever seen in my life,” O'Neal said in an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “You know what's crazy? I'm watching him, he was drinking water. I'm like, ‘How do you act like that just by drinking water?'”
It’s incredible to think that anyone can come close to matching Shaq’s outsized personality, but that's just how Gronk is wired. He’s every bit as kooky and crazy as Shaq, to the point where even Shaq himself has to give him his props.
But while he’s crazy and fun-loving off the field, Gronk is all business on the field. He has probably been the closest thing to the dominant force Shaq was in his prime in the NBA that the NFL has ever seen. After partying and getting his crazy on with Shaq this offseason, Gronk will be ready to get down to business once again for the Patriots once the new season begins.
