In the last two weeks, the New England Patriots have been quite firm in helping bring along star wide receiver Josh Gordon into the fold both on and off the field.

This has included placing his locker right next to quarterback Tom Brady in the locker room. During his weekly interview with NESN, Brady voiced on Monday that he believes that placement has helped the two build a bond both on and off the field, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

“We get along well, and he sits right next to me, so it's just a nice rapport to have that,” Brady said Monday morning during his weekly interview on sports radio WEEI, one day after Gordon made his Patriots debut by playing 18 offensive snaps and finishing with two receptions for 32 yards.

“I really try and get along with everybody. I think that is really important for any teammate, however you get here. We picked Josh up in a trade two weeks into the year, [and] now that he's our teammate, we have to get to know each other, because you can build that trust and chemistry in different ways.”

There is a great importance from the organization to get Gordon into the mix where he is feeling comfortable and welcomed into this new environment. The Patriots have a clear understanding of what he brings to the table with his talent that could see him emerge as one of the top targets in the passing game for Brady.

Gordon had gotten out to a strong start in his debut in Sunday's 38-7 win over the Miami Dolphins as he hauled in both of his targets for 32 receiving yards in the 15 plays that he took the field. This is a building block to seeing him get more playing time as he gets more comfortable in the offense and builds some stronger chemistry with Brady.

In the meantime, it looks like the 41-year-old is all in towards helping Gordon become a key part of the puzzle in helping them compete for a Super Bowl this season and possibly beyond that.
