The New England Patriots are 8-2 on the season heading into Week 12 with the defending Super Bowl champions looking like the best team in the AFC once again. Unfortunately, Tom Brady is a bit banged up ahead of the team's divisional clash with the Miami Dolphins.

According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, Brady is dealing with an Achilles injury.

The Patriots’ injury report lists Tom Brady as not practicing with an injury to his Achilles. The quarterback is “fine,” reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, and Brady will start against the Dolphins on Sunday.

At 40 years old, an Achilles injury is obviously a major concern for the Patriots, especially with Jimmy Garoppolo now with the San Francisco 49ers and Brian Hoyer backing up Brady in New England.

Although Brady hasn't shown any significant signs of slowing down at 40, Father Time catches up with us all and an Achilles injury is obviously cause for concern. Despite the injury, Brady is playing at an extremely high level once again this season.

With the Patriots having won six games in a row and seemingly cruising back into the playoffs, the main goal for Brady and company will be clinching a first-round bye. New England will try to keep it going against the Dolphins who they'll face twice in the next three weeks.

In 10 games this season, Brady has thrown for 3,146 yards, 22 touchdowns, and only two interceptions.
