Much like the president of the United States of America, the health of Tom Brady is always a timeless national obsession. Thursday's practice provided a glimpse into the status of both the five-time champ and his favorite target, Rob Gronkowski.

With 10 days remaining before Super Bowl 52, Brady remains limited in practice while Gronkowski is dealing with the effects of a hard helmet-to-helmet hit by Barry Church in the AFC title game and sat out, as noted by NFL.com.

Brady's injury first popped up prior to facing the Jacksonville Jaguars for the AFC crown. His throwing hand required a dozen stitches last week. Information has been tough to come by for obvious reasons. This is Bill Belichick, the man who once threw his quarterback on the injury report as “probable” with a shoulder injury for what seemed like a decade running.

As pointed out by Nick O'Malley of Mass Live in May of the last offseason, Brady's injury report gimmick via Belichick has compiled through the years.

Take the limited tag in any fashion you'd like. He looked pretty solid throwing for 290 yards and two touchdowns on 26-of-38 passing with another mind-boggling fourth-quarter comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Gronk is the real concern here.

Big No. 87 was forced to leave the AFC title game late in the first half after the nasty Church hit.

He suffered a concussion on the hit, and due to the fact it's a head injury, it's anybody's best guess when he returns or if he'll be able to suit up come game time. Considering he missed one of the two Super Bowls his Patriots teams have participated in the last three years, the motivation to get cleared with a bill of clean health will certainly be there.

Super Bowl 52 between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles will take place on Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBC.
