There has been a lot of speculation that Tom Brady could be done playing for the New England Patriots, and on Friday, some fuel was added to that fire.

According to Gary Tanguay of NBC Sports Boston, Brady and his family are “planning to leave” the Boston area, with Tanguay citing a source that said Brady has been “embarrassed” by his compensation compared to other quarterbacks and figures to leave the Patriots in free agency.

Tanguay added that the priority for Brady is to let his kids finish school this year before ultimately departing.

Of course, we should probably take this report with a grain of salt for now, because it seems somewhat hard to believe that Brady already has his mind made up.

After all, the Patriots' Wild Card Round loss to the Tennessee Titans is still very fresh, and Brady almost surely has to process things before making a decision.

That being said, there was a whole lot of chatter about Brady's rumored tenuous relationship with Bill Belichick in 2018, and this year, there has even been talk that New England may want to move on from Tom Brady.

Tom Brady is coming off of one of his least productive campaigns in years, as he threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 60.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 88.

Of course, the Pats had a dearth of receiving talent that also played a role in Brady's rather lackluster season, but you also have to wonder how much of a role his age played in his 2019 decline.
