Depending on how you felt about retired New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski, you were either looking forward or bracing yourself for his WWE debut. And like what many thought, he begins his professional wrestling career in a way that is utterly Gronkesque.

The moment he made his entrance for Friday Night SmackDown, people were immediately tweeting about the Gronk. The WWE immortalized the moment by turning his first entrance in the WWE into a GIF that his fans could share.

It's obvious in his face just how much he loves his new job. He's been an open fan of the sport for much of his life, and joining the wrestlers he's watched and admired for so long is a dream come true for Gronk.

While it's unfortunate that he has to make his debut in front of an empty arena due to the coronavirus, he should be more than happy to have his first couple of matches in such an environment.

And while his entrance is both iconic and funny at the same time, some New England fans will not find this adorable. They would still rather have him suiting up for New England, where he probably would've helped Tom Brady win his seventh Super Bowl title with the Patriots.

However, Gronk made it clear that he wouldn't be returning to pro football. And Brady has since moved on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Only time will tell if Gronk can make a successful transition to the pro wrestling scene.
