New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson was selected to the first All-Star Game of his career, representing Team Durant this Sunday evening. The young superstar out of Duke had a very humble reaction when he first found out that he was going to Atlanta, as he himself couldn't believe it, via NBA TV:

In just his second season, he will have the opportunity to play with and against the best of the best, and it's no surprise why. He has put up big numbers for the Pelicans this season as he has averaged an amazing 25.6 points along with 7.2 rebounds. He has been incredibly efficient from the floor and an absolute beast in the paint.

The Pelicans are not doing as well as Williamson would have liked, as they are sitting at the 11th seed with a 15-21 record. However, there is plenty of time to turn their season around, as they can fight for the eighth seed to earn a spot in this season's playoffs. It won't be easy though, as they will have to go up against teams such as the Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors, and Dallas Mavericks, as they all have proven to be resilient and determined to earn that last spot.

Williamson's selection to the All-Star Game was no mistake, as he has established himself as one of the strongest and aggressive players in the league. His hustle will be key in the Pelican's success this year. But, before Williamson worries about getting his team to the playoffs, he will enjoy the moment of playing in the world's most star-studded game of the year.
