The New York Knicks could get a chance to acquire Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, but it would come at a price.

New Orleans are still trying to convince Anthony Davis to stay with the team. However, if everything fails, they could reportedly trade him to the Knicks if the team gets the top overall pick and drafts Zion Williamson.

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, though, the Pelicans would want a package of Zion, a couple of young players and picks from the Knicks for Davis.

According to a source, the Pelicans have interest in both of the Knicks’ 2018 draft picks, Kevin Knox, their lottery pick, and second-rounder Mitchell Robinson, who happens to reside 15 minutes outside of New Orleans, in Chalmette, La.

The Knicks are expected to pursue top free agents this summer, as they have enough cap space to sign two of them. Should they succeed in bringing in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Zion Williamson would become an expendable but great trade asset.

The Pelicans will rebuild after trading Davis, and Williamson will be the best and perfect cornerstone for the franchise. His potential is limitless at the moment, and he could become one of the best players in the league in three to five years.

If the Knicks fail to land any big name free agent, they will most likely keep Williamson, while the Pels will look for another trade partner for AD.
