When it comes to New Orleans Pelicans superstar power forward Anthony Davis, there continue to be rumors lately swirling around the team actually trading him to the Boston Celtics. One person who is not buying that for a second is ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, as he joined The Dan Le Batard Show today to squash those rumors about Davis' potential move to Boston.

“No. I mean, New Orleans has no intention of trading Anthony Davis. Listen, every team in the league would love to have Anthony Davis. Boston is uniquely positioned in that they have draft picks, young players and all the things that, if a team was going to trade Anthony Davis, all the things that you'd want,” Wojnarowski said on Wednesday. “But they're not trading Anthony Davis.”

Woj thinks that Davis is certainly not going anywhere, as he believes the Pelicans want to also re-sign star center DeMarcus Cousins to a new deal and make a playoff push.

“I spent some time with Anthony about a month ago and he wants to make it work in New Orleans. He wants to get into the playoffs, certainly, as he's been out for a couple of years now. They have a great opportunity here to get back into the postseason. They want to re-sign DeMarcus Cousins and have a team here that can be a postseason team,” Wojnarowski said of Davis.

Rather than trade Davis, Woj thinks the obvious direction the team will head is to surround Davis with more talent.

“It would be a radical change of direction by the organization to decide to put him out on the market. I think their focus now and going forward is trying to find ways to put players around him and win. Because players like Anthony Davis do not come along and you just don't trade them. It's one thing if it's at the end of his contract and you feel like you're going to lose him in free agency, but they're not anywhere near that yet,” Wojnarowski said.

Davis is coming off back-to-back games in which he has scored at least 45 points and nabbed at least 15 rebounds, which came in road wins over the New York Knicks and the Celtics.
