Tiger Woods' strong Friday showing which led to making the cut at the PGA Championship now seems like an eternity ago after his brutal Saturday collapse. Wood's effort on Saturday produced an entirely new low in which he never accomplished before in his career.

Tiger Woods made five consecutive bogeys for the first time as a professional. He is now shooting +12 for the tournament as of this story's publication.

Stamina and endurance was always going to be the question for Woods in his return from his car crash last year. Nobody questioned the talent. However, holding strong over four days without the aid of a golf cart is the challenge.

Tiger Woods' performance comes to the chagrin of the golf world. Many fans and even fellow golfers were pulling for him. Tiger's comments after making the cut on Friday only strengthened the support surrounding him.

“I’ve won tournaments — not major championships, but I’ve won tournaments on the cut number. There’s a reason why you fight hard and you’re able to give yourself a chance on the weekend. You just never know when you might get hot.”

But instead of getting hot, he trended in the complete opposite direction on Saturday.

Nonetheless, his tenacious effort has to be appreciated. Nobody would have blamed him had he chosen not to participate in the PGA Championship. People wouldn't have been faulted him for slowing down on Friday. But Tiger Woods never gave up and performed well enough to continue playing on Saturday and Sunday.

This weekend was a step in the right direction for the legendary golfer despite his Saturday career low.
