The opening round of the PGA Championship didn't go quite the way Tiger Woods had planned, as he finished with a score of 74. Woods had seven bogeys and also had some trouble driving the ball at times, prompting some questions about his overall health. Speaking to reporters after the first day of action at Southern Hills, Woods got honest on the health of his surgically repaired leg, per the PGA Tour's Twitter account.

Woods said that his leg is “a little sore”, with “lots of treatment” and “lots of ice baths” as part of the plan for getting ready for the PGA Championship's second day of action.

Woods had made headlines before the tournament when he said that he would “never again” have full mobility in his surgically repaired leg.

The 15-time major champion has still shown flashes of the level of play that has made him one of the greatest in the history of the sport, though it seems like he and his team will simply have to work harder than they did before to get- and keep him- in good shape health-wise.

Woods' first round featured eight pars, seven bogeys and a trio of birdies. He appeared to grimace in pain a few times and was also favoring his leg while walking the course at Southern Hills.

While the opening round couldn't have gone much worse for Woods, Friday is a new day at the PGA Championship. All eyes will be on Woods to see how he responds.
