Tiger Woods pulled off the near-impossible yesterday, qualifying for the next round of the PGA Championship on a bad leg. It was a gutsy performance from one of the best to ever do it. It was vintage Woods in his prime, overcoming the adversity to keep on fighting for a chance at greatness.

Unfortunately, Round 3 is the furthest that Tiger Woods could go. The PGA Championship announced that the American golfer has withdrawn from the tournament. When asked about his decision, Woods relayed to a pool reporter this answer. (via Yahoo! Sports)

“I didn't do anything right,” Woods said after the round. “I didn't hit many good shots. Consequently I ended up with a pretty high score.”

It was a disastrous day for Woods, who clearly hadn't recovered well from his brutal stint the day prior. He went nine-over in the round, leaving him in pretty bad shape for the following rounds. Perhaps not wanting to risk his body even further, Woods simply decided that the damage wasn't worth a slim shot at the PGA Championship, and so he bowed out.

The PGA Championship was Woods' second tournament after returning from a life-threatening car crash in 2021. Early on, it seemed like the American was on track to dominate the competition. However, as the tournament progressed, Woods' performance and health rapidly deteriorated. His injured leg clearly bothered him as the days went on, indicating that he isn't fully healthy yet.

Because of this, there have been talks about whether this PGA Championship will be Tiger Woods' last ride. The golfer refused to answer questions about his future after his withdrawal.
