PGA Tour star Brooks Koepka's season hasn't quite gone the way he wanted it to. Koepka was ranked first on the PGA Tour as recently as last February, but has taken a steady slide since that point, falling all the way to 20th in the rankings. Koepka spoke to reporters on Thursday about his PGA Tour rankings fall, offering a brutally honest take, via ESPN.

“That's embarrassing to be 20th, I feel like,” Koepka said after Thursday's first round. “A lot of it has to do with injury, man. I've been hurt, on the sidelines. Not playing, playing through injury, you can't compete with guys out here.

“It's nice to be somewhat healthy and get out here, and I mean, I'm not too worried about it, it will bounce back up.”

Brooks Koepka called his fall to 20th in the PGA Tour ranking embarrassing, though he noted that much of it has to do with injury. The star golfer has dealt with knee, neck and hip issues over the last several years, though he defiantly stated he was “pretty damn healthy” when asked about his current injury status.

A four-time major champion, Koepka has proven he has what it takes to win at the highest level in the PGA Tour. With Koepka off to a good start at the WM Phoenix Open- an event he has won in the past- it looks like the PGA Tour star could be on the right path towards climbing back up the rankings.
