Andre Drummond could reach some elite company by trotting out another 20-point, 20-rebound game on Monday against the Washington Wizards. The Detroit Pistons center is coming off three straight 20-20 performances and could become the first player to record four in a row since Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it in 1975 in his first year with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Jason Kubatko of StatMuse.

The Pistons are largely depending on Drummond to come through after injuries to two of their starters in Reggie Jackson and Blake Griffin, who is expected to be out for a while. Meanwhile, the 6-foot-10 big dipper is gobbling down boards like his meal ticket depends on it, amassing a whopping 66 rebounds in his last two games.

Drummond has four 20-plus rebound games in the first seven games for Detroit and he can make it five in eight by pounding the glass once more against an undersized Thomas Bryant and the Wizards.

The Connecticut product had already showed some scary potential by winning three of the last four rebounding titles, but he's averaging a monstrous 22.1 points and 18.7 rebounds this season while keeping the Pistons afloat in a challenging race. However another 20-rebound game can put his name among legends of the sport, joining other iconic bigs like Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry Lucas — two double-double monsters of their own era.
