The Detroit Pistons defeated the Indiana Pacers on opening night, thanks in large part to the efforts of Andre Drummond, Luke Kennard and Derrick Rose.

Drummond was a monster from start to finish. The Pistons center finished with 32 points and 23 rebounds.

Kennard and Rose came off the bench for the Pistons and were stellar. Kennard scored 30 points on an efficient 8-of-13 shooting, including 6-of-9 from deep. Rose, meanwhile, poured in 18 points while dishing out nine assists, playing the point guard spot to a T.

Kennard and Rose have developed good chemistry already. The Pistons sharpshooter says it's fun playing with Rose and that “nobody can stop” the former MVP:

“He just knows how to play the game,” Kennard said of Rose, via Pistons.com. “He’s a general on the court and nobody can stop him – and when they do, he finds open guys. I’ve said it before, but you’ve got to be a step ahead when you’re in the game with him. He’s a really impressive guy. A really important player. It’s fun to play with him.”

The Pistons play again on Thursday, hosting the Atlanta Hawks. It will be interesting to see how Detroit looks on the second night of a back to back.

Rose may be the backup to Reggie Jackson, but it's clear head coach Dwane Casey trusts the three-time All-Star to run the show at the end of the game.
