When Becky Lynch marched out to break up a fight between Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville at the former's Netflix is a Joke Fest comedy show, it garnered a massive pop from the sold-out crowd in Hollywood, California.

With nothing announced for the show other than appearances from “Sami Zayn & His Friends,” the arrival of the WWE Woman's World Champion went off like a Las Vegas jackpot, with fans rising to their feet to celebrate her arrival alongside a chorus of cheers and a stampede of clapping hands. Lynch swiftly got the show back on track, helped to kick Knoxville to the curb, and even delivered a dramatic monologue to an audience that lingered on her every word, all the while buddying around with the “Underdog From the Underground,” whom she has always had a great rapport on screen.

But hidden deep within the cornucopia of jokes, wrestling references, and inside verbiage, Lynch let it be known that she very well could work a mixed-tag match with fellow guest Ron Funchess against Tony Deppen and Paul Walter Hauser – long story – in GCW, as she only has three weeks left on her current WWE contract and could theoretically work an indie match as soon as June if Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson don't come correct with the right contract offer.

Now granted, is this really news news? No, Fightful reported on the very same day as the show that Lynch still hadn't re-signed with WWE and had three weeks left on her deal, corroborating her own comments on Ariel Helwani MMA Hour before WrestleMania, but hearing Lynch deliver the same news in such a matter-of-fact way garnered quite the reaction from the fans in attendance, with Zayn asking the crowd to keep things hush-hush – sorry Sami! – even though, again, this wasn't brand new information.

Could Lynch actually leave WWE, even for a little bit, in order to fight for better terms even after her husband Seth Rollins re-upped his deal with the promotion? I mean, probably not, but hey, it's certainly possible and may even be low-key encouraged by WWE in order to draw some hype a la Shayna Baszler appearing at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport on WrestleMania weekend. Keep your eye on the calendar after King and Queen of the Ring, folks, as things might get very interesting after the show.

Becky Lynch wants a new deal on par with WWE's top male stars.

Speaking of Becky Lynch's contractual situation in WWE, “The Man” stopped by The Breakfast Club last month ahead of WrestleMania 40 to help hype up the show and decided to discuss her future in the promotion. While Lynch has made no secret of the fact that she wants to stick around in WWE long-term, in the end, she isn't going to take a hometown discount to stick around with the company, as she doesn't just want to be the highest paid woman in WWE but one of the highest paid performers in the promotion, period, as she feels she's on the same level as all of the men on RAW and SmackDown too.

“The last contract I signed was three years ago. I was coming back after having my kid. When I left, I left on top,” Becky Lynch explains to The Breakfast Club via Fightful. “It's one of those things where, sometimes, in a male-dominated sport, we're historically like, ‘Thank you. Thank you for that. I don't want to make any waves.' It was one of those things where I was like, ‘No, I deserve this.' There is no reason why I should not be getting paid the same as a top guy. Because of my gender? No. You can put me in any main event. You can put me in any main event, and it makes sense. I've proved that time and time again. So, compensate me fairly, please. It is that thing of having to ask for more. ‘I'm so grateful that you're paying me more than we used to be paid, but still, I need more.' You're always pushing that barrier. It's come a long way, and I love to see it.”

Is Lynch as hot as she was a half-decade ago, when she was headling WrestleMania 35, selling a million shirts, appearing in ESPN commercials, and serving as the cover star for WWE 2K? No, considering she's only a champion right now because Rhea Ripley is injured, it's safe to say Lynch isn't WWE's top star any longer. Still, considering everything she's done and everything she will do over the next few years, there's little reason to believe that Lynch won't land the sort of contract she's earned, especially considering Tony Khan would happily give up the farm to steal “The Man” away from WWE.
