Former Oakland Raiders EDGE man Aldon Smith has found himself in the headlines once again for the wrong reasons following a domestic violence incident that occurred over the weekend. This has further pushed his life into another discouraging sputter headed south with the involvement of law enforcement in a serious matter.

It had taken a day for the police to locate Smith after an alleged domestic violence matter with his fiancee that she revealed that a possible addiction could have contributed to this entire ordeal. According to TMZ, the 28-year-old has decided to check into a rehab center to help straighten out his life.

“I can tell you this … Aldon called my parents and asked them to take him to rehab,” the woman tells us.

“He complied. They went and got him. I was not there. My family took him and had him checked in.”

“I wish the BEST for Aldon. And I'm scared for his life with his addiction. I cannot comment on the altercation but I can tell you I love him and so happy he turned to my family who considers him family and hopefully he gets the help he truly needs.”

It has been a difficult path for Smith over the last few years since being indefinitely suspended from the NFL due to violating the substance-abuse policy. He has since attempted to file for reinstatement from the league but has been able to receive that clearance.
