Derek Carr and Davante Adams go way back together. The duo became one of the most dynamic tandems at Fresno State College before both of them went to the NFL. Now, Adams has reunited with his college QB, as he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on a massive contract.

Davante Adams' move to Las Vegas naturally created comparisons between Derek Carr and the former's QB at Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers. On Thursday, Adams made a bold claim regarding the comparisons of the two, saying that: (via NFL.com)

ā€œAs far as talent and ability, it's really similar, if I'm keeping it real,ā€ Adams said. ā€œThey throw the ball a lot different. Derek's gonna fire it in there, and you gonna know that thing's coming quick. Aaron's got the ability to tighten that core up and flick that ball to you.ā€

Adams would also point out that both quarterbacks have their similarities in terms of approaching the game. The new Raiders WR had this to say:

ā€œHaving two guys like that with really strong arms, and understand the game, the mental part of it, is another similarity that they have. They both obsess over it and they know everything that's going on out there.ā€

Certainly, there are going to be fans who will roast and clown Adams for this take. Rodgers is considered one of the best quarterbacks in league history, while many fans feel like Carr sits squarely in the middle of the pack. Comparing the Raiders' franchise to QB to A-Rod feels borderline disrespectful for certain fans (mostly Green Bay fans).

Carr has a chance to rewrite the narrative around him this season, though. A successful 2022 campaign with Adams will prove that all he needed was a strongly built team by the Raiders around him.
