It was a surprise to many when the Green Bay Packers traded away Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. Especially since Aaron Rodgers made the decision to sign an extension with the franchise.

However, Adams left the team and plays in Las Vegas now, and he just revealed the true reason he requested a trade.

For insight on the most improved teams from the 2022 NFL offseason, listen below:

According to Vic Tafur, Davante Adams asked for a trade because he was unsure about how much longer Aaron Rodgers would remain with the Packers. The Raiders receiver claimed “he likes backup Jordan Love,” but clearly felt more comfortable going to a more stable situation.

It is notable that Adams mentioned Jordan Love. Although he claimed he likes the young quarterback, his actions say otherwise. Regardless, with uncertainty revolving around Rodgers, it made sense for Davante Adams to find a new team. The Raiders have a decent starting quarterback in Derek Carr. The two played alongside each other during their time in college, so the chemistry is already built.

Adams finds himself in a nice situation in Las Vegas. The franchise surprised many after playing through a ton of off-field issues and still made a playoff appearance. Now, with an improved wide receiver corps, the Raiders have a chance to make some noise in the 2022 season. As for the Packers, they're still viewed as the favorite in the NFC North, but the team will surely miss its superstar wideout.

Keep an eye on the Raiders, as they could be a surprise contender again. It'll be a difficult road, though, as the AFC West is the most stacked division in the league. Even so, Davante Adams aims to help Las Vegas make a deep playoff run this year.
