The Oakland Raiders had a couple of veteran players on the team with contract issues coming into the 2017 NFL season. Sebastian Janikowski was asked to restructure his deal while two-time Pro Bowler Donald Penn wanted to secure his long-term future with the team.

Apparently, after negotiating a deal over the past few weeks, the Raiders and Penn have come to terms on a two-year contract extension. Not only is Penn under contract for two more years, but he's getting paid a hefty sum, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Penn will be motivated to play at a high level for Oakland, via Rapoport.

With Janikowski and Penn taken care of contractually, the Raiders can now solely focus on football for the time being. Oakland got off to a quick start with Derek Carr and company getting the best of the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 1.

In Week 2, the Raiders will head back home to go head-to-head against the lowly New York Jets at Oakland Coliseum. It will be the team's first game at home and the first game for Marshawn Lynch wearing silver and black in his hometown during the regular season.

As for Penn, he'll continue to be a part of one of the best offensive lines in the league tasked with making holes for Lynch and protecting Carr.
