The Las Vegas Raiders and owner Mark Davis are doing their part to fight the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that is spreading across the country.

In a statement from Davis, the Raiders announced that they would donate $1 million to fight the coronavirus. However, it was not specified in the statement where and how the funds would be directed.

Regardless, the team is doing something positive to stop something that has affected sports in recent weeks, per Pro Football Talk.

“The Las Vegas Raiders are proud to stand alongside the incredible community leaders that are doing everything that they can during this time of need,” Davis wrote. “Health and safety is always our top priority and we’d like to salute Gov. [Steve] Sisolak, Jim Murren and the entire Task Force for their tireless efforts in supporting health officials and healthcare workers throughout the Silver State.

The pandemic has forced most major sports leagues to cancel, postpone or alter events and seasons altogether. For instance, the NBA has postponed the end of their season indefinitely while the NFL will be holding April's NFL Draft from multiple remote locations rather than in Las Vegas where it was originally scheduled to be held.

Davis and the Raiders join a big list of other NFL teams and players that have stepped up in the wake of uncertainty in which the country finds itself in.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara recently donated one million meals to a Seattle food bank, while Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward has offered to pay bills for others in the city.
