Shortly before Super Bowl LVI kicked off, news surfaced of the possibility of Rams defensive end Aaron Donald retiring if Los Angeles won the game. The news seemed to come out of nowhere. Simultaneously, reports also surfaced that Rams head coach Sean McVay might walk way as Rams head coach after the season as well.

Well, the Rams won Super Bowl LVI. That of course then begged the question, will either of these two people retire from the game of football. Donald, at the podium after the win, gave a specific answer that should hopefully put Rams fans at ease, at least somewhat.

Donald talked about when McVay joined the Rams and what he said to him. As Donald put it, “As long as he's here, I want to continue to be a part of this organization and help build on the legacy.”

Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams pulled off a comeback victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI Sunday. They trailed 20-16 in the final minutes, but Matthew Stafford found Cooper Kupp for the go-ahead touchdown. The Bengals were left with just under two minutes left and three timeouts. Enter Aaron Donald.

On a third and short near mid-field, Donald stopped the Bengals tailback from reaching the first down. That set up a fourth-and-one for Cincinnati. Burrow dropped back to pass and Donald did what Donald does. He blew up the play, wrapped Burrow and flung him around. The ball would fall incomplete and the Rams only needed a knee to win the game.

It was a quiet game for Donald the majority of the game Sunday night. But when the team needed him the most, Donald showed why he is already considered one of the greatest defensive players to ever play in the NFL.
