BetOnline.AG released their updated odds for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, with Kyler Murray in the first place. Where it gets interesting is that Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson finished No. 2 on the list; tied with Dwayne Haskins. This is despite 2017 Offense Player of the Year Todd Gurley listed as the lead back for the team.

However, unless you've been living under a rock, the Rams' running back depth chart can't be put under (1) Gurley (2) Henderson in a vacuum. Gurley, late into 2018, sat out the end of the season due to a knee injury. He came back in the playoffs but didn't look to be the same player.

Then, in the offseason, it was reported that Gurley has left knee tendinitis; a frightful diagnosis for any running back.

The Rams drafted Henderson, hailing from Memphis, in the third round as an insurance policy. While Gurley is back at camp, skeptics remain on his knee, and head coach Sean McVay has stated multiple times that Gurley will receive fewer snaps than in 2018 (315) in attempt to preserve it.

That's where Henderson comes into play, as he, over Malcolm Brown, looks to be back the Rams pair with.

Henderson's skill set should fit McVay's outside scheme. Pre-draft, many thought he'd be a future bell-cow back. He's a one-speed runner that can accelerate in a jiffy and juke, truck, or spin out of trouble.

In 2018, in college, he recorded 1,909 yards and showed a penchant for getting into the endzone — he scored 22 touchdowns. He also added 233 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver.

If Gurley isn't healthy, Henderson will probably be the lead-back, if not, he'll be a Chris Thomspon type, as reported earlier this week.
