The Los Angeles Rams are getting a facelift for 2020 and one leak of the new logo angered the fan base. Former Rams quarterback Jim Everett is using the opportunity to tease Rams fans on social media, however.

On Sunday afternoon, Everett, retired at 57 years old, shared a photo on Twitterβ€”an extreme close-up of the potential new logo for the L.A.-based NFL franchise. Everett, joking with fans, added the caption, β€œWe see ya!”

A few minutes later the one-time Pro Bowl signal-caller tweeted again, saying he didn't have β€œa clue.”

The former Rams QB continued to joke with Rams fans after the raucous he caused himself, including tweeting GIFs at the team's expense due to the much-maligned new leaked logo (which was confirmed by Yahoo Sports) and eventually claiming he's just speculating.

β€œJust indulging into the wave of speculation,” Everett wrote. β€œThe real logo will be here so enough.”

Jim Everett spent the first eight seasons of his professional tenure with the Rams in 1986-93, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 1990 and throwing the most touchdowns in the NFL in back-to-back seasons in 1988-89.

Everett joined L.A.β€”before the St. Louis relocationβ€”when the Houston Oilers drafted him third overall in 1986 out of Purdue and traded him to the Ram franchise, which was then located in Anaheim.

Jim Everett later finished his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints and then-San Diego Chargers, the Rams' current Los Angeles neighbor after the southern California franchise moved to the same city.
