Leading up to the Los Angeles Rams' 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 56, speculation began to run rampant that Rams head coach Sean McVay could walk away from the team in the offseason. McVay seemed to shoot these rumors down in the immediate aftermath of the Super Bowl win, though he didn't completely rule anything out.

On Monday, McVay was a bit more cryptic when asked about his coaching status for 2022, which will only raise eyebrows heading into the offseason. Via Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times:

“We’ll see,” McVay said. “I’m just enjoying this moment right now. I’m really happy to be a part of this. Happy for that.”

McVay also admitted it would be easier to leave after winning the Super Bowl, but nothing is set in stone right now and it seems the 36-year-old will take some time to make a decision. There have been rumblings he could go into broadcasting if he decides to leave Los Angeles.

The Super Bowl-winning head coach joined the Rams in 2017 when he was just 30 years old, making him the youngest head coach in modern NFL history. McVay took Los Angeles to the Super Bowl in his second season on the job, losing an ugly game to the New England Patriots. The Rams missed the playoffs the following season but returned to the postseason in 2020 and then won the Super Bowl this past season with Matthew Stafford under center instead of Jared Goff.

McVay has a 55-26 record in the regular season and 7-3 in the playoffs as the head coach in Los Angeles.
