The New York Rangers won Game 3 of their second-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes Sunday at home to the tune of a 3-1 score, and if there's anyone who had topped the heat of the Rangers' on-ice performance, it's got to be their head coach, Gerard Gallant, who ripped the Canes after the contest.

Via Mollie Walker of the New York Post:

“I didn’t like the bullshit at the end of the game that they initiated… Domi took a cheap shot at our defenseman.”

Gallant surely did not like the brand of physicality the Hurricanes are showing in the series, and he's not backing down from the challenge either, saying “If they want to play like that, we've got the guys that can match that,” per SNY.

There's another game at Madison Square Garden coming up this Tuesday, with the Rangers looking to capitalize on the home-ice advantage to tie the series up at 2-2 before hitting the road for Game 5. New York did a fantastic job on both ends of the rink in Game 3, with an in-form Igor Shesterkin silencing the Hurricanes and Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad finally coming alive on offense.

The Rangers were also down 2-1 after three games in the first round of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs before turning it on with a three-game win streak to close out that series in seven games.
