Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams knows very well of the challenge that awaits them when they play the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday: Fred VanVleet.

The Raptors are on a roll, winning six straight games now behind the brilliant play of FVV. VanVleet has been a beast for Toronto in their recent streak, as he averaged 31.2 points on 47.0 percent overall shooting (44.3 percent from three) in the said span.

VanVleet has been named the NBA Player of the East for the past week with his big-time plays, and so it is safe to expect he'll look to continue his monster streak against the Suns.

Williams has high praises for the Raptors guard heading to their meeting, noting that the veteran playmaker is probably playing the best basketball among anyone in the East right now.

“I’m not quite sure there’s anybody playing better than him in the East right now,” Williams said, per Eric Koreen of The Athletic.

Fred VanVleet's play has propelled the Raptors to playoff contention–boasting a 20-17 record heading to Tuesday's showdown–so it's not surprising why Monty Williams is cautious of the scoring guard.

Of course the Suns have some weapons to counter VanVleet in Chris Paul and Devin Booker, but as Williams hinted, they cannot underestimate him and the rest of the Raptors.
