The Toronto Raptors snagged a shooter from what remains of the free agent bin on Saturday, signing free agent Svi Mykhailiuk to a two-year deal, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Mykhailiuk, who has played for Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons and most recently the Oklahoma City Thunder over the course of his three-year career, was given a player option on the second year of his deal. The 24-year-old can opt out of his contract after next season and sign a more lucrative deal should he play well in Toronto. Specific figures of the contract have yet to be reported.

If Charania's reporting is accurate and contenders expressed interest in Mykhailiuk, it would appear that the Ukrainian wing chose to go to a team where he'll get more playing time (and more of a chance to prove himself). While Charania deemed him a sharpshooter, he only shot 33% from deep on 4.8 attempts last season for the Pistons and Thunder. If he can get back within range of the 40.4 percent mark he set as a Piston during the 2019-20 season, he'd become a much more valuable commodity throughout the league.

Mykhailiuk will be playing behind starting shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. and will compete for minutes with a slew of young wings like Scottie Barnes, Isaac Bonga, Freddie Gillespie and Stanley Johnson. The Raptors seem to be in a pseudo-rebuilding mode, so it stands to reason that Mykhailiuk will see some playing time at some point throughout the season.
