The Toronto Raptors could be in serious trouble. Prized rookie Scottie Barnes went down in the fourth period of their Game 1 matchup against the Sixers and it did not look good at all.

Barnes was down for a couple of minutes writhing in pain after Sixers superstar Joel Embiid stepped on his left foot (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

Barnes was helped to the locker room quickly after the incident and it still looked like the Raptors youngster was in significant pain. Initial reports suggest that this is an ankle sprain for Barnes, but we will wait for the official update from the Raptors here.

As expected, the 20-year-old was unable to return to the game. It was already a blowout at that point, which further adds insult to injury for Toronto.

Based on Barnes' initial reaction and the manner by which he could not put any weight on his left foot on his way to the locker room, it won't be surprising if he missed a few games because of this injury. The Raptors rookie is going to get tests after the game and we should learn more from this injury.
