The Toronto Raptors will head into Game 2 of their first-round series with the Philadelphia 76ers down a very key player in Scottie Barnes, who is doubtful due to an ankle sprain that he sustained in Game 1 when Joel Embiid stepped on him.

This is undoubtedly a massive blow for the Raptors because the rookie has truly been one of their best players all season, but Barnes is staying in good spirits as he recovers.

Via ESPN's Tim Bontemps:

The Raptors forward went down in a lot of pain and had to be helped off the court. It was just another brutal turn of events for Toronto, who were absolutely dominated in every category imaginable against Philly. To make matters worse, Gary Trent Jr and Thaddeus Young are also unlikely to play on Monday night.

Prior to exiting, Barnes was balling, registering 15 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. He's one of several players who has the size and strength to somewhat contain Joel Embiid and now, the Raptors face a tall task in Game 2.

Let's hope Scottie Barnes can get healthy and return to the floor before Toronto is in too deep of a hole. Ankle sprains don't exactly heal very quickly though, which is definitely concerning. It's time for Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam to rise up and put their championship experience to good use.
