Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle suffered a concussion during his team's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon and will miss the remainder of the contest, according to the team.

Boyle had caught one pass for seven yards before exiting.

On the year, Boyle has hauled in 22 receptions for 205 yards.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Delaware, was originally selected by the Ravens in the fifth round (171st pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in 11 games during his rookie campaign, catching 18 passes for 153 yards. His first season did not come without controversy, either, as he was suspended for four games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy.

Boyle then tested positive again in February 2016, and was consequently suspended for the first 10 games of the 2016 campaign due to it being his second offense.

He ended up snaring six balls for 44 yards and six games. Then, last season, Boyle finished with 28 receptions for 203 yards.

The Wantage, N.J. native is yet to catch a touchdown pass in his NFL career.

Baltimore entered play on Sunday with a record of 7-6 and was clinging to the sixth and final playoff spot in the AFC. The Ravens are also still in the thick of the AFC North race, as the first-place Pittsburgh Steelers came into the weekend with a record of 7-5-1.

After playing the Buccaneers this weekend, Baltimore will head on the road to take on the Los Angeles Chargers next Sunday before concluding their regular season by hosting the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 30.
