In a remarkable turn of events–even for 2020–Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Dez Bryant learned he had tested positive for COVID-19 minutes before Tuesday night's scheduled NFL game against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Bryant took to Twitter to break the news and was clearly frustrated.

It's impossible to make this stuff up. No scriptwriter could have possibly imagined such a scenario unfolding before a Tuesday Night Football game featuring the Cowboys–the NFL's most famous franchise–and the Ravens, who were the top seed in the AFC last year under NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.

Dez Bryant was looking forward to facing the Cowboys since his tenure with Dallas ended rather abruptly. Unfortunately, COVID-19 had other plans for the Ravens' wideout, who had 531 receptions with the Cowboys and scored 73 touchdowns in the regular season.

Bryant has appeared in three games with the Ravens this season. He has four receptions for 28 yards. Baltimore will now have to face the Cowboys without Bryant and tight end Mark Andrews, who is still on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

The good news for the Ravens is that Lamar Jackson and running back Mark Ingram will play against the Cowboys. Both stars missed Week 12 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers due to COVID-19. This deadly virus has been plaguing America for a while and the NFL hasn't been able to escape it either, which was to be expected since players are traveling from city to city and playing a contact sport.

The Ravens, even without Bryant and Andrews, should still be able to defeat the Cowboys, who are a walking disaster on both sides of the field. Dallas has the worst defense in the NFL and the offense has been putrid with Andy Dalton under center.
