A recent injury to 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson made Baltimore Ravens fans hold their breath for a while. The gunslinger missed a second consecutive practice on Sunday, as he dealt with a soft tissue injury. He has made his return since and took the field with the team on Monday.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley bared some good news from Ravens coach John Harbaugh on Twitter:

Jackson wasn't the only one as running back Justice Hill and cornerback Marcus Peters are also dealing with soft tissue injuries of their own. The next man up mentality is expected from Ravens players to fill in the absences of their sidelined teammates.

The Ravens will continue to lean on Jackson in the upcoming season, similar to what they did last season. The former Heisman Trophy winner had a historic season as he set the NFL record with 1,206 rushing yards – the most for a quarterback in league history. He also amassed 3,127 passing yards on 401 attempts and led the league with 36 scored touchdowns last season.

The Ravens finished on an impressive 14-2 record but ran out of gas against the rampaging Tennessee Titans in the AFC semi-final game in the 2019 NFL Playoffs.

Things are going to be different as Jackson won't need to carry much of the ground game scoring load like before. Additional weapons have already arrived in the Ravens camp during the offseason. Rookie running back J.K. Dobbins is expected to provide an immediate impact along with three-time Pro Bowl running back Mark Ingram and third-year player Gus Edwards.

The Ravens will certainly go as far as Lamar Jackson will take them in the upcoming season. The team can only hope that their main man can stay healthy all throughout 2020 for them to finally achieve their Super Bowl aspirations.
