The Baltimore Ravens didn't have the worst 2021-2022 season, but they certainly didn't have the best one, either. Things went south when Lamar Jackson suffered a season-ending ankle injury in December. The Ravens finished the regular season last in the AFC North with a below .500 record of 8-9.

Baltimore's mediocre season landed them the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Fortunately, with a new update on Ronnie Stanley, the Ravens don't have to worry about drafting an offensive tackle with their first-round pick.

Stanley only played one game this past season due to a long-term ankle injury he suffered in Week 8 of the 2020-2021 season. However, after two surgeries and a lot of time, there is “optimism” for the left tackle's return to the field.

“The expectation now is that Stanley should be ready for the 2022 season,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said. He shared the news on Total Access Tuesday morning, just days before the upcoming draft.

As Rapoport mentioned, this is nothing but great news for the Ravens. An All-Pro will be returning to their offensive line, and they have free reign in the first round. If Stanley wasn't slated to return for the start of the season, they likely would've had to draft an offensive tackle 14th overall.

This is especially good news for Jackson, who definitely missed Stanley's offensive protection in 2021. If Stanley had been available to provide coverage for the Ravens quarterback, who knows how the 2021-2022 season would have played out?
