The Baltimore Ravens appear to be all but completely committed to rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson in the future. Jackson started in seven games in the regular season as well the Ravens lone playoff game this season against the Los Angeles Chargers.

One thing Jackson did not do a whole lot of was pass the football. Jackson ran the ball very efficiently, and the Ravens used his speed to their advantage. The Ravens have other plans for Jackson in 2019.

Jackson is well-known for his burst out of the backfield and his ability to be a dual threat, but the Ravens forced him into a more one-dimensional approach in the playoffs. The Chargers stifled Jackson on the ground and forced him to throw. The thing is Jackson can certainly throw, and he proved that when the game plan called for him to do so. The former Heisman trophy winner only eclipsed 200 passing yards once, but his work on the ground was truly impressive.

Jackson broke the quarterback record for most rushing attempts by a quarterback and took over the starting position back in Week 11. The Ravens got a fantastic talent and were able to wait on him considering he was the final pick of the first round. Jackson provides a great dynamic to the offense and is a complement to the elite defense making Baltimore one of the more well-rounded rosters in football.

Going forward the Ravens should be able to depend more on Jackson as a passer as well and unleash his real potential.
