The restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have offered up its own set of challenges for players preparing for the 2020 NFL season. Fortunately, this did not stop Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown from packing on some serious muscle.

Brown played the 2019 campaign weighing in at around 157 pounds. He is now up to 180 after gaining 23 pounds this offseason, via NFL Update:

Ravens WR Marquise Brown says he's at around 180 pounds now, which is up over 20 pounds (mostly muscle) from where he was at the end of last season. He borrowed a GPS unit from the Ravens to track his speed and he measured as fast as last year despite the added weight.

Brown earned plenty of praise from Ravens' strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders for the work he put in the weight room throughout the offseason. While his physical transformation may have been the biggest of any player on the roster, he is now looking to take that next step in his development as the No. 1 wideout on offense.

Despite the lingering effects of the Lisfranc surgery Brown had on his right foot, “Hollywood” managed to fight through by finishing as Baltimore's most productive wideout with 46 receptions for 584 yards with seven touchdowns as a rookie. His newfound health and physique leave him poised to make a major leap in year two.

Although Baltimore has enjoyed plenty of success with their run-have offense, head coach John Harbaugh is hoping to take a more balanced approach with quarterback Lamar Jackson in the passing game.

This should help pay huge dividends for putting Brown's skill set on full display.
