There is a very select group of players that have relished in achieving the pinnacle of what the NFL has to offer. One would be hard-pressed to find a player that celebrated more than former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Tony Siragusa.

Siragusa made a request to team owner David Modell leading up to Super Bowl XXXV that he would be allowed a week with the Vince Lombardi Trophy if the Ravens won. Modell obliged his request in spectacular fashion following their win over the New York Giants, via the team's official Twitter:

“After we won the Super Bowl, I went right over on the sideline and told [David Modell] I want that thing for a week and he gave it to me! He had a limo bring it up to me in Jersey. There was some crazy stuff, man.”

Tony Siragusa added that he took full advantage of having the trophy for the Ravens in his possession.

“I made a lot of money, guys wanting to sleep with the Vince Lombardi Trophy. I took it to a bar, we turned it upside down and we were taking shots out of it. It was quite a thing.”

Baltimore winning its first championship since 1961 was quite a big deal for the city. It is safe to say that Siragusa's role in helping make it come to fruition with the Ravens played a part in Modell's willingness to let a player as charismatic as himself take control of such a coveted achievement.

The Ravens have Super Bowl expectations once again heading into the 2020 NFL season. It will be interesting to see if any players have an opportunity to top Tony Siragusa's celebration with the trophy.
