There has been much speculation made about what the Washington Redskins could choose to do with the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Months in advance of the draft, Adrian Peterson expressed his support for Dwayne Haskins.

For months, it has been a predetermined notion that the Redskins are going to select Chase Young, the standout defensive end out of Ohio State. However, rumors are swirling around that Washington could surprise some people and choose Tua Tagovailoa at No. 2.

By drafting Tagovailoa, that would create competition at the quarterback position with Haskins. Despite it being a possibility, Peterson doesn't appear to be a fan of the idea of having anyone besides Haskins under center in 2020.

During last year's draft, the Redskins selected Haskins with the 15th overall pick. Even though he was taken in the first round, Washington had him compete with Case Keenum for the starting job. Ultimately, the Redskins chose to go with Keenum to start in Week 1.

But after Keenum and Colt McCoy received chances to start, Haskins finally made his first career start in Week 9 versus the Buffalo Bills. Then, the rookie signal-caller proceeded to start in Washington's final seven games of the season.

Over the course of his seven starts, Haskins completed 59.1 percent of his passes for 1,225 yards. In addition, the Ohio State product finished with seven touchdowns and three interceptions in the last seven weeks.

At the NFL Combine, the Redskins met with some of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft. With Ron Rivera as the team's new head coach, it remains to be seen if he views Haskins as the long-term option for the franchise. While Rivera is hesitant to commit to Haskins, Peterson believes he's the best choice.
