According to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com, the Washington Redskins have added to their depth at tight end by signing Donald Parham.

This is an interesting move for the Washington Redskins. They already have superstar Jordan Reed and talented veteran Vernon Davis at the tight end position. However, Reed's health has been a major issue throughout his career, and Davis can't perform as he once did.

Behind those two, the Redskins also have Jeremy Sprinkle set as the third tight end. The question is if someone can impress enough to take a fourth spot on the roster.

Donald Parham joins Matt Flanagan and J.P. Holtz in trying to do just that.

Parham had an impressive career at Stetson, especially his final season. In 2018, the tight end racked up 85 receptions for 1,319 yards and 13 touchdowns. Those numbers are definitely deserving of a shot at the next level.

The argument that this is simply a move to have bodies at camp seems pretty weak considering Washington had cut a tight end (Manasseh Garner) earlier in the week. Clearly the Redskins see something in Parham and hope they've snatched up a hidden gem that went past everyone else.

Even if he doesn't make the Washington Redskins' roster, this is a great chance for Donald Parham to showcase his skills. If he shows off talent and professionalism there's every chance another team comes calling.

This is just the next step in the journey of a young football player. Will the Redskins be a quick trip or a long-term stop for him? Either way it's invaluable experience for him, and more competition for Washington.
