New Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins wants to make other teams pay for passing up on him in the 2019 NFL Draft. After falling to the middle of the first round, the former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback expressed motivation at his draft night slide.

‘To be honest, I'm more motivated than ever before. I've got a chip on my shoulder,” he said, per ESPN's Jen Lada. “The league done messed up.”

After the Arizona Cardinals made Kyler Murray the No. 1 overall pick, many draft experts believed Haskins was the next quarterback to get the call. The New York Giants, with 38-year-old Eli Manning entering the last year of his four-year extension, were desperately in need of a signal caller.

But instead of snagging Haskins, the Giants opted for Duke Blue Devils quarterback Daniel Jones. That surprising choice elicited a smirk and a shrug from Haskins, who, notably, was a fan of the Giants growing up.

New York's NFC East rivals, the Washington Redskins, were another quarterback-needy franchise. They lost Alex Smith to a season-ending leg injury last December, and offseason acquisition Case Keenum and longtime reserve Colt McCoy aren't long-term answers at quarterback. Enter Haskins, whom Washington drafted 15th overall on Thursday.

Haskins wants to prove the 14 other teams who passed up on him wrong. He will see Jones and the Giants twice a year. Those games should be intense, to say the least.

Washington is still reeling from its selection of Robert Griffin III seven years ago. Now, it seems they have their franchise quarterback in Dwayne Haskins. The rest of the league better watch out.
