Jordan Reed won't make his 2019 debut in Week 3. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Washington Redskins tight end has been ruled out for the team's Week 3 Monday game against the Chicago Bears as he is in concussion protocol.

Reed attended practice earlier in the week, then proceeded to miss Thursday and Friday.

Reed went into concussion protocol during Week 3 of the preseason off of a helmet to helmet hit via Atlanta Falcons safety Keanu Neal. The NFL later fined Neal $28,075. Reed has gotten the worst end of the hit as he's shaping to miss nearly a quarter of the season.

Reed has an injury history with concussions. If he is diagnosed with a concussion off of protocol, it would be the third reported one of his NFL career, his fifth since his playing days for the Florida Gators.

Reed has missed 31 of 96 regular season games since 2013. His injuries include hamstring pulls, toe sprains, hamstring strains, A/C joint separation, MCL sprain, quad strain, bruises, and thumb strain.

Sports Injury Predictor flags Reed as a high risk for re-injury in 2019 with a 73% chance of doing so.

Without Reed, Washington will continue to start veteran Vernon Davis. For the season, he has seven receptions for 88 yards and two touchdowns to his name. Jeremy Sprinkle is in line to receive snaps on Monday.
Washington is 0-2 heading into their Monday Night Football matchup with Chicago. They will host the Bears.
