Heisman Trophy winner and 2019 NFL Draft prospect Kyler Murray continues to improve his stock, but he won't play for the Washington Redskins. Whether he is selected by the Arizona Cardinals or another quarterback-needy team trades up to snag him, it appears as though the Redskins won't be on Murray's radar in late April.

According to a recent report from NFL Network, Murray won't be meeting with the Redskins ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft.

“Was just told by someone with knowledge of the scheduled visit that Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray no longer plans to meet with the Washington Redskins this week,” writes Steve Wyche of NFL Network.

The reigning Hesiman Trophy winner infamously eschewed a career in professional baseball as a member of the Oakland Athletics to enter the upcoming NFL Draft.

“Severely undersized, one-year starter with rare playmaking talent that could force general managers to reassess long-held notions about size and style for a franchise quarterback,” reads his NFL.com 2019 NFL Draft profile. “Murray is like a complex burgundy with notes of Baker Mayfield, Johnny Manziel and Russell Wilson in his play, but like any quarterback, he'll need to prove he can recognize disguised coverages and work on-time from the pocket to go from flash talent to playoff winner. Teams drafting him need to have the right coordinator and must be committed to framing their offense specifically to Murray's strengths and weaknesses, which could require additional roster re-configuration. Murray is an electric talent with a live arm, good mental makeup and the skill-set to produce at a high level in the right offense.”

The Redskins currently have veteran quarterback Case Keenum slated to start under center this September.
