The NFL is not suspending Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington. However, he will be fined two game checks, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Foster was released by the San Francisco 49ers this past November as a result of misdemeanor domestic violence charges. The Redskins then claimed Foster off waivers.

However, in January, the charges against Foster were dropped, as the State Attorney's Office in Florida claimed that there was insufficient evidence against him.

In six games with the 49ers this past season, Foster finished with 29 tackles.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the 49ers in the first round (31st pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He appeared in just 10 contests during his rookie campaign due to ankle and rib injuries, but when he was on the field, he was productive, registering 72 tackles.

Foster has had numerous run-ins with the law throughout his NFL career.

Back in January 2018, Foster had been arrested in Alabama for possession of marijuana. Then, in February 2018, Foster was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, threats and assault weapon possession charges.

However, Foster's accuser later testified under oath that she had fabricated the story as a money scheme, saying that Foster did not lay his hands on her nor threaten her.

The Redskins are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they won just seven games and missed the playoffs. Washington has made just two playoff appearances since 2008, and going back even further, the Redskins have qualified for the postseason just five times since 1993.
