Back in December, the Washington Redskins brought in long-time Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera. The thought process there was that he could help change the team's culture. Who knew he'd have to do that beyond the confines of the football field as well?

Rivera seems more than up for the challenge, though.

He was quoted in the actual Washington Post story that emphasized his commitment to doing so.

“We’re trying to create a new culture here. We’re hoping to get people to understand that they need to judge us on where we are and where we’re going, as opposed to where we’ve been.”

But as the searing report dropped, Rivera had more to say to local reporters on Thursday night.

“Biggest thing is we have to move forward from this and make sure everybody understands we have policies that we will follow and that we have an open door policy with no retribution,” Rivera said, via Ben Standig of TheAthletic.com. “Plus my daughter works for the team and I sure as hell am not going to allow any of this!

“Dan Snyder brought me here to change culture and create an environment of inclusion among employees. I believe everyone that works for this franchise has a vested interest in our success.”

The coach may just be in charge of more on-field affairs on paper, but Ron Rivera doesn't sound like he's gonna let that stop him from trying to change the culture from within.

When Rivera took the job, he was facing a massive rebuilding effort. Little did he know he was going to have to help change the Redskins from the ground up.
