The Washington Football Team can't seem to get much right this offseason and that remains true for the team's official Twitter account. While the team attempts to reinvent themselves moving forward, Washington failed at their rebranding with a Twitter hashtag.

On Sunday, Washington's official Twitter account shared that “#1932” would be the team's new hashtag. However, there's one issue with the organization using that as its hashtag. The guidelines on Twitter require hashtags to include at least one letter in them. Provided that, Washington's hopeful new hashtag was short-lived on social media.

After years of people calling for them to change their name, Washington finally caved earlier this offseason. But like most franchises that are rebranding, Washington is going to need time to discuss ideas to replace the old constants of the organization.

Before the team announced their name change, Washington used #HTTR as their hashtag. Of course, since they don't use the R-word anymore, the social media team will need to manufacture a fresh hashtag that can resonate with fans.

Having the hashtag as the year the team was founded sounds like a good idea. On the other hand, Washington's social media team should have made sure it was doable before they announced it. Seeing that they have to go back to the drawing board, they are giving fans a chance to come up with the new hashtag.

It has been quite the eventful offseason for Washington's franchise thus far. And even when they believe they've made progress in rebranding themselves, things have gone awry for the team that resides in the nation's capital.
