Josh Johnson may be coming back for another season with the Washington Redskins, according to a new report about the matter.

Even though, last year, the campaign fell apart for the team, Johnson was seen as a “feel good” story. He'd spent years away from the field, on a professional level, before he got the fateful call from the Redskins after three of their quarterbacks went down.

During his short tenure with the team, Josh Johnson totaled four touchdowns and interceptions over as many starts, winning one game. So while he didn't get to play as much as, perhaps, he'd have liked, his ambition and success was something that the brass took notice of. And, perhaps that's the reason Bruce Allen — president of the Redskins — wants to bring him back again.

According to USA Today, there are a few ways they can approach this.

“Washington has to decide how it wants to attack quarterback this offseason with Alex Smith likely out for the year. Retaining Johnson and Colt McCoy is one option and it sounds like the Redskins would like to get something done before free agency.”

Prior to coming on board with the Washington Redskins, Josh Johnson played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Considered a “journeyman quarterback,” Johnson played college football for San Diego before he was drafted in 2008. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Sacramento Mountain Lions, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, Houston Texans, and the Oakland Raiders.
