Former NBA champion and ex-Detroit Pistons guard Richard ‘Rip' Hamilton is seriously considering a comeback to the NBA.

Hamilton, at 38 years old, last played in the NBA about three years ago, in the 2012-2013 season for the Chicago Bulls. While Hamilton isn't sure where he'd end up, he wants to see if it's possible and considers himself in the testing stages at the moment.

Hamilton spoke to CBS about his plans:

I'm giving myself 30 days where I am really hitting the gym. I'm working on my game. I'm in the weight room. I'm running my two, three miles a day. And I'm trying to see if my body can hold up. If my body can hold up after these 30 days, I will be making a comeback. If I get the opportunity where I can come in and earn my minutes. I think that I will be able to make an impact on someone's NBA team.

Hamilton also said he spoke with Ray Allen about making a comeback, and that he had already asked his agent to look into what kind of opportunities are available to him.

Allen also has been rumored to be sought out by a few teams in the NBA, but he hasn't been as vocal to the media about if he will indeed lend his services to any team.

Hamilton played a major role on the '04 Pistons title team, and he's been an All-Star three times. He averaged 17.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds for his career and made a living running perfectly around screens, shooting mid-range jump shots, and playing tough team defense.
