San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman offered flattering remarks for Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Justin Jefferson. While speaking at his Pro Football Focus podcast with NBC’s Cris Collinsworth, the 5-time Pro-Bowler suggested the 21-year old has a “very unique” route-running game and has looked like he has played in this league a long time.

Via Steve DelVecchio of Larry Brown Sports:

“I can’t think of a comparison,” Sherman said. “He’s very unique in his route-running. I think if you put some Marvin Jones, some Allen Robinson in there … He’s very veteran, even his slants he’s able to put a little extra wiggle in the short amount of time you have to run those routes.

Sherman went on to say that the Vikings stud has done a tremendous job in exceeding expectations in terms of his route running and applauded the work Jefferson has been putting week in and week out. Considering that this was Sherman talking, that surely speaks volumes of the great talent of the 21-year-old LSU product.

It hasn't taken Justin Jefferson a ton of time to get acclimated to the pros. He has certainly rewarded the Minnesota head coach's trust, who gave him the starting keys in just his third professional game. The no. 22 overall pick has 762 receiving yards to his name, which ranks 7th in the entire league. Likewise, Jefferson is averaging 18.1 yards per reception.

Justin Jefferson's words this past week indicate that he has high aspirations to be great, saying he wants to be Hall of Famer. With the way he's starting his NFL career, that may just be Jefferson's future when it's all said and done.
